'MONOPOLY CHALLENGE'

The boys have completed many barcrawls in their time however there was one challenge which has often been talked about but not yet completed. It was time to correct that. On 2nd October 2009 Peter Hill, Adam Edwards, Adam Thoroughgood and Nathan Duffield stepped forward to accept this challenge.

The idea of the Monopoly challenge is a simple one. On the Monopoly game board there are 22 Streets and 4 Train Stations all of which are located in London. Our challenge was to visit all of these locations and have a drink at each one. 26 drinks in total. Idealy the preferred way to tackle this task is to visit each location in the same order they appear on the game board. We looked at this and it would of involved a lot of criss crossing from one side of London to the other. This method can be done in a day but it would have been a very difficult task and as this was our first attempt at the challenge we decided to got for the easier option and take a more logical route around London. The route we went for is shown below. The research for this challenge all came from this website - monopolypubcrawl.org.uk This information proved vital in some cases but in others it failed. Some of the pubs mentioned are no longer open. Some of the streets do not have a pub on them at all so we went prepared for this situation by taking a rucksack of drink with us. If we couldn't find a pub we would drink outside on the street. Although 'go to Jail' does also feature on the monopoly board we were hoping this would not play a part of our day.
