SANCHOS ROMP
OVER RIDGEWAYE
On paper this game looked an interesting
contest with both teams at the wrong end of the table and playing for
pride, though Ridgewaye were always going to struggle again with only
5 squad players available. The game started in a scrappy fashion without
much space being created by either teams but a couple of good early
saves from Ridgewaye's Adam Good kept them on level terms. Despite the
tight and compact play Sanchos found some gaps and took a 0-4 lead into
halftime. The second half was a lot more open and chances were created
at either end. Sanchos began to dominate as the half progressed. A four
goal haul for Rhys Gilden and a hat-trick for Robert Cornish saw them
running away with it. Goalkeeper Graham Nicholson in his last match
for Sanchos managed to get on the scoresheet too before being sent off
for a deliberate handball outside the area. The change of goalkeeper
let Ridgewaye back into the game and they soon scored 2 goals but it
wasn't enough to stop Sanchos taking 3 points with a comfortable 13-2
victory.
